Off to a fun little getaway with my close friends to celebrate my friend getting married soon and
my other friends birthday! We changed our mind twice on deciding where to go- we first
were going to head to Vegas but decided it wasn’t “us”, then we thought of Santa Barbara for
a more relaxed little trip and later we felt it wasn’t hip enough…
We then ended up with San Diego; which is a couple hours away and since we’ve all never
really been, we thought we’d give it a shot! We’re staying by the beach so these
are a couple of things I’m bringing with me- 3 bathing suits total and some pretty pieces I’ve
picked up recently!
Really excited to layout, get (more) tanned, eat amazing food, do a
little shoppin’, take photos and just have fun!

I love San Diego, used to live there for 3 years! I actually just went to hang out there last weekend! if you have time you should def try and go to Coronado Island, La Jolla, Old Town SD, Downtown SD, Carlsbad, and Oceanside

Go eat @ Searsucker downtown! AMAZING! The owner was on Top Chef. There’s also an AWESOME Speakeasy called “The Noble Experiment” on G Street! Enjoy my town!
I love San Diego! My boyfriend lives there so I go there all the time.
Fat Fish in Pacific Beach is a great place to get good food and giant margaritas. And it’s right by the pier so you can walk to the beach after!

Good eats: CUCINA Urbana! Get the polenta plate that changes daily…cocktails are good, food is great. Sushi Ota has the best sushi in CA. Get the salmon belly. May be hard to get tables at either place – I normally make a reservation a couple weeks in advance but sometimes walk-ins don’t take that long. Good luck & happy eating!

i live in SD. there’s a wine bar in downtown san diego called vin de syrah. it’s an alice in wonderland themed bar and the decorations are amazing! the entrance is a little tricky though.

Love your site! not sure if you are still in San Diego {i live there}… but there is a restaurant you can’t miss! It is called Arrivedercis… and it is in the neighborhood of Hillcrest. Seriously the Italian is better than in Italy… if that is possible… it is very intimate and everyone that works there are all Italian! Recommend everything, but love the gnocchi, and the lobster or Portabello ravioli. Have so much fun! (hash house a go go is the best breakfast brunch place… there is always a wait!)
I’m from San Diego! For places to sight see & hangout during the daytime, I would check out La Jolla especially La Jolla Cove (you can see seals hanging out), Balboa Park, Hotel Del Coronado & Seaport Village. Downtown has great restaurants & nightlife & North Park is the hip place to go. Have fun!

Downtown:
Check out the gaslamp quarter in the evening, it’s a bit vintage glam and the boutiques are fun and different. Ghiradelli’s ice cream on 5th is right next to Urban Outfitter’s along with tons of clubs and great restaurants.
Hillcrest:
Great, unique part of town with an artistic, young vibe. Really fun restaurants and great vintage shops, and spas and stylists are popular there as well. Known for its large, friendly LGBT community.
Coronado:
You can take a ferry from downtown to Coronado island (or drive over the bridge) and walk along the shops that lead to the Hotel Del Coronado…the beach there is the best, but there are a lot of tourists. Nice, higher end boutique shops, etc. Great views of the city!
Point Loma:
Semi-defined by Rosecrans St down to the shore (much of Pt Loma above Rosecrans is residential), which is lined with restaurants, shops, nicer bars, and yacht clubs.
The Brigantine and Fiddler’s Green are two nicer restaurants in what is called Shelter Island (great lunch menus, too). Red Sails Inn has great breakfasts. Harbor Town Pub on Rosecrans St is new and really fun: the waiters are all friendly and simultaneously tough/awesome (the tattoos may or may not be a job prereq).
If you feel like exploring or going for a walk, the Cabrillo National Monument has an old lighthouse, a new (still functioning) Coast Guard lighthouse, trails and tidepools to visit for I think 5ish dollars. It’s absolutely breathtaking!
Ocean Beach:
Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach has tons of antique stores for cheap vintage jewelry and fun souvenirs…there are a few true socal beach boutiques on the strand too. If you go, stop at Hodad’s for a burger. It’s awesome. Lots of beach bums but they’re harmless.
Pacific Beach: A bit cleaner (and less tourist filled) than the beach bordering Downtown and wayy cleaner than Ocean beach. Brandy Melville has a shop there, and there are boutiques and restaurants along the boardwalk.
