Peplum Stripes.

Peplum everything has been seen everywhere, and to be quite honest with you.. not sure I was a fan of it. It’s a little too feminine for my particular style/taste, but since wearing my black Myne peplum dress recently( last seen here) I ‘ve gained a little love for peplum- I just have to dress it down a lot for it not to be “too feminine” but more laid-back casual instead. This blouse though is darling- it is striped (my fave, duh!) so it was the perfect balance of feminine and cool, add some trousers rolled up and you’ve got yourself a look that can worn to multiple settings (just switch out the shoes; converse, flats, heels, sandals!)

    You make an interesting point with noting that peplum is pretty feminine. On that note, I like how you contrasted that femininity with the masculinity of the trousers and the aviators, but still balanced it out with the heels. The bag definitely is a bit more gender neutral. Interesting look, I like it. :)

    You always pull a cute outfit together! Those shoes! I die. BUT, I wonder if these days too many of us turn a blind eye to the detailing of our off-the-rack clothing. This peplum shirt clearly has the seam of the peplum skirt unevenly sewn into the horizontal line of the top’s striping. These are the kinds of things my mother always taught me to look for when shopping. Particularly when stripes are concerned (stripes should also line up at the side seams.) Tsk.
