Pretty Little Things.

pretty

I love pretty little things. I mean who doesn’t? It makes us feel feminine, delicate and at times romantic.

Quick little post on a few things that have been keeping me feeling pretty.

DAINTY RINGS: I always, always, have them on. They’re so simple but yet add such a bold touch that it’s definitely become my “signature” thing.

ANINE BING diamond solitaire ring  /  GABRIELA ARTIGAS single white diamond ring  / LOREN STEWART baby band ring (open band ring here) /  ALEXA LEIGH elijo diamond ring

EARRINGS: I love chandelier, fancy earrings. I especially love pairing them with tees and messy beachy waves for that effortless look. I always put the right hand side of my hair behind my hair to give the earrings some shine!

BAUBLE BAR earrings.

SNEAKERS: I’m such a sneaker girl. They’ve always just been “my thing.” I’ve had so many pairs of converse, high-top, low top and DIY studded ones, but never really bought myself a pair in black until recently. Hands down, best color to get. I think the high-tops in black look way cooler than the white ones. Something about a washed out black and worn-in look makes them all the better when pairing them with dresses, leather skirts or skinny jeans!

CONVERSE high-top sneakers  / love them in Ivory / the MISSONI x CONVERSE collaboration sneaker is cool too!

POUCH: I’ve collected a handful of cute little pouches over the last couple years. I love to have them in different sizes because they come in handy when I travel especially. Even on a regular day, I must have atleast 3 little pouches in my handbag. I use them for everything, to keep me organize with my coins/money, for my makeup, for my little camera or just as a small clutch.

CLARE VIVIER wallet clutch  /  love this houndstooth print pouch  /  this Spencer clutch too!

SUNGLASSES: I always hide behind a cool pair of sunglasses. Eventhough I always go back to my trusty Ray Ban aviators all the time, I love finding a new pair to replace.

RAEN ‘Stryder’ sunglasses

PERFUME: This I have a hard time with. I’m a loyal customer when it comes down to perfumes… let’s just say I’m not as adventurous when it comes down to switching perfumes. I like sticking to what I know and wear all the time. The last perfume I purchased was a few months ago while I was in Paris. I bought Odin in 04 and I absolutely love it! However, I just found a new one that I’m a little in love with.

Boot Season!

CHLOÉ Studded Susanna boots

So since fall is here, it’s finally time to pull out your favorite boots and layer up- yay!! I got too excited for it that I packed of one of my favorite pairs to San Diego to try and get in the spirit. Unfortunately, the weather in Los Angeles is still beaming at close to 100 degrees making it very difficult and not fun, to enjoy the fall season. Tear, tear. (Side note: I get many comments/emails regarding posting more “fall/winter” looks for you guys experiencing the real colder weather for inspiration…but it makes it very difficult for me to when it feels like a sauna outside, it’s unbearable! I promise as soon as the temperature drops, I’ll post more fall/winter looks on the blog!)

Even though it still feels like the beginning of summer here in LA, I’m not letting it stop me from preparing for when the temperature cools down enough to wear chunky knits, scarfs, coats and of course boots. I’ve learned to not fall into the whole trend scene when it comes to certain pieces, but as I get older, it really is more about quality over quantity. Before I would just buy, buy, buy and wasn’t really concern about the quality, so I obviously just had a bunch of stuff that really wasn’t worth it. Now, I really scout for the perfect piece, bag, jacket, jewelry, or boots. I really do save money to splurge on the ‘right’ item because I know in the long run, I’ll have it for years to come.

But, I do know some of us can’t splurge because of other priorities, which is completely fine, but I think it’s all about being a smart shopper. Look for deals online, buy on sites like ebay for that designer item you’ve been eyeing, keep track of sales, but most importantly, whatever you buy whether its expensive or not, make sure you’re buying it because it’s a piece that will complement your wardrobe for years to come not just for a couple of months. Always think of quality over quantity, no matter the price.

I splurged a little… well, more like I got lucky, with these Chloé Susanna boots last year when I scored them for almost half the price on a sale! YES! I love the studded details and buckle straps that give it a tough look but the color makes it a bit more feminine and easier to transition from fall to spring. Eventhough the weather is still not fall appropriate, I’m making a wishlist of boots that I’m considering to splurge on for when it finally arrives in LA. I’m thinking a pair of knee-high boots to wear with  flowy dresses with chunky knits or black, buckle strap boots to replace my Balenciaga ones!

Any boots you guys are eyeing for this season or any classic ones? Share! I always want to know what other people are into!

Here are some cool options, both new and classic:

This week I’m all about the color RED, more specifically CHERRY red. The bright bold color is one that definitely demands attention. It’s sexy. It’s powerful. It’s fun and it even makes you feel confident.

It’s a color that you have to kinda be in the mood for, but once you have it on, you’d wish you’d wear more often. We all need to wear more red… at least I do!

Above are some cool picks from clothes, accessories to shoes and wallets in cherry red. It’s the perfect color to wear year round! Below you’ll see two looks styled for two different occasions wearing the same color. Hope you find some inspiration for this weekend and wear cherry red! x
