Ever, Forever.

It’s Monday! I don’t know if I have ever told you guys but I looooove Mondays. It’s one of my favorite days of the week because it feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s a new week where you can set up new goals and just start fresh again.

Mondays for me usually consist of waking up extra earlier to hit up the flower market in downtown right before I head to our office but not before grabbing my go-to vanilla mocha though! I head straight to my desk where I work on emails, designs, inspiration, blogposts and our shop pretty much all day. Even though our office is super laid-back and we all wear whatever we want, sometimes I want to wear an “office” look without feeling like I work at a corporate office.

We all know how hard it is to work at an office and dress or even feel cute in office wear- it’s usually a nightmare getting dressed for the office. For me, I always try to really stick to basics- in color and in silhouettes. A super nice silky button up is always a lot more nicer than just a regular button up, or wearing slim trousers instead of your regular frumpy looking ones! Looking for pieces that are basic but have a twist to them whether in fabric or fitting, will definitely elevate your “office” look to a more put-together chic look!

I love Everlane’s basic pieces that have such a modern twist- they’re effortless, easy, sexy without trying and so versatile! It’s always so hard for me to find the perfect trouser let alone a slim trouser… I’m really picky! I’m a huge fan of silky button ups, any color, any style.. so their selection is perfect!

Next time you’re wondering what to buy or wear, remember to stick to those basics and more modern silhouettes. Think about colors too- I try to buy neutral tones and try to stay away from bold prints for button ups. Less is definitely more.

Trousers in a slimmer silhouette look more polished and help elongate yours legs! Instead of wearing heels, opt for cute fancy flats!

Personally, I like to unbutton my shirts a little lower. For the office, you obviously can’t but if you’re having drinks after work, go ahead and unbuttoned it a little lower and throw on some heels!

I always like to show off my ankles when I wear any kind of pants or jeans.. so folding the trousers at the bottom adds a little detail and gives off an undone look which I love.

Sometimes the coolest outfits are those that you throw on without much thought behind it. The ones that are simple in color and silhouette. Those looks that you can make look different with just one twist.

I switched it up a bit with my cardi that I picked up from Nordstrom because instead of throwing it on over a tee, I thought it would be fun to wrap a belt around it for a more sophisticated look. I made sure to keep everything neutral in grey to fit the mood I was having plus it was easy to find matchy-matchy pieces in color over at nordstrom because they carry just about every color!

The leopard clutch was the perfect touch to break-up the palette. Don’t be afraid to keep things simple. Instead of wearing your oversized cardi over a top, wear a pretty lace bralette and wrap your cardi with a belt- the cute detail of the bra peeking will be the ultimate detail!

Gotta run now, but wanted to wish you a beautiful Tuesday!

my style

I love how easily a pair of bright, cool sneakers can elevate my look into sporty-chic (<— kinda  hate that word!) while being so comfortable working in the office and running errands around town.

Sneakers can be tricky sometimes to style especially if you feel/think you just left the gym when you wear them outside of the gym. Let me re-assure you that sneakers & sporty elements is definitely “in” and you don’t have to worry about feeling like you just ran 3 laps around the park because you’re wearing sneakers. The thing about fashion is that you’re supposed to have fun, try new things and experiment… so why not try a a pair of sneakers instead of your stilettos?

There’s a couple of things to remember when you feel like buying a pair of sneakers or wearing ones you already have.

  • Start slow- with classics. Don’t go all crazy (yet) and buy a bold pair of sneakers if it’s never been your thing or you’re not comfortable styling them. Start slow and ease into the whole sneaker thing. I suggest sticking to classics sneakers like New Balance 420s or 574’s with neutral colors like black, grey, navy blue. These colors go with pretty much everything.
  • Play it safe. Keep everything pretty simple and play it safe, that never fails. Wear easy silhouettes, like skinny jeans or leather skirts, to make the sneaker the center focus.
  • Find a style. Look for different style of sneakers and try a bunch of them on so that you know what looks great on you and what doesn’t. Make sure they complement your legs + ankles- you know, not too bulky, or too high that it cuts you off at the ankles, just some examples.
  • You wear the sneaker, don’t let the sneaker wear you. Wear those sneakers with confidence. It takes guts to be different, so why not start by wearing cool sneakers with an unexpected combo?
  • Be daring. Get out of your comfort zone and try different sneakers with bright, bold colors. They might feel loud and like you can’t pull it off, but trust me, you can. Remember, you can keep everything else super easy breezy and in neutral colors so you don’t feel like its too much. Daring is sexy.

Sneakers are my thing so I try to have fun with it and buy different kind of styles to fit my moods. For many of us who are always on the go, running to school from class to class or moms who chase their little ones around, sneakers are a girls best friend. Just have fun and don’t be afraid to try new things.

Keepin’ it extra neutral since the sneakers are neon and bright.

Crossbody bags are always a great way to wear sneakers- they complement each other so well!
