Weekend: SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

SLSCOVER

I’ve been so busy lately with work, meetings and planning new things that these back to back mini getaways I’ve been taking have come at the best time. This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of partnering with SBE to experience the super grand opening of their luxurious SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Although not a huge fan of Las Vegas, I do enjoy escaping for a random weekend getaway once in  awhile. For the grand opening of the SLS however, things were 10x better while in Vegas this time around. We never left the hotel once all weekend… yep, we enjoyed the whole weekend indoors at their pools (yes they have two awesome pools- Foxtail + Beach LiFE!), dined at a couple of their award-winning restaurants, did a little fun shopping at Fred Segal, checked out the casino and of course danced the night away at the uber cool LiFE club.

The vibe is definitely a lot cooler, younger, hipper than most of the other hotels + casinos in Las Vegas which I loved. The thing I don’t like about Vegas is how cheesy it can be, how it can feel overwhelming in those giant hotels/casinos because they’re just too big, and how you have to jump from hotel to hotel to enjoy different things like clubs or restaurants. SLS felt completely different, the opposite for sure. It felt more like a luxurious boutique hotel with a much more upbeat, playful sophisticated vibe; it was a one-stop hotel. Definitely 10x better that what I’m used to in Vegas.

We had a packed itinerary to really explore the hotel all weekend long which was great to  see firsthand. From the first day of the grand opening that entailed a grandeur party that lasted from 7pm to the crack of dawn (Iggy Azelea, Rita Ora and Lenny Kravitz all performed that night-whoa!) to the opening of their sexy hotel LiFE to sitting pool side at their chic pinstripe cabanas while we sipped champagne, to eating at their famous restaurants like Cleo, Bazaar Meat or Katsuya. In the mornings, we either had delicious pancakes at The Griddle Cafe (an L.A. favorite btw) or The Perq-  a super cute joint with gourmet coffee and fresh pastries!

It was a fun filled weekend that I was very happy to be a part of. It is definitely going to make my Vegas trips a lot more pleasurable to stay in and I wouldn’t mind taking trips there more often now.

Take a peek at what my weekend getaway at the SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas looked like! See you at the SLS Vegas soon!

* Special thank you to SBE, SLS and Fouj + Muss for having me a part of the grand opening! Thank you guys for an amazing experience and taking care of us!

Working for the Weekend.

loverscover

Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking a mini getaway to Sedona, Arizona with my beautiful friends from Lovers + Friends. They invited me to join in on a awesome little trip to launch their Fall ’14 Collection called ‘Working for the Weekend.’

The new collection is inspired by working hard to enjoy the fun things, like mini getaways. It’s a collection that aims to always make you look and feel good whether at work, happy hour or during the weekend. After a week long of hustling at your 9 to 5 job, it’s about rewarding yourself while looking great in Lovers + Friends. Our trip to Sedona was just that.

Working super hard non-stop with the blog, projects, meetings and my Sj brand all week long is exhausting. So finally getting to enjoy the weekend and reward myself with a trip, shopping or my favorite activity is always the icing on the cake. I was so excited to be a part of this launch because I’m a true believer of working hard to only play harder.

The awesome itinerary for the weekend had a couple of things that I had never done before, like riding on a six-seater plane over the Grand Canyon (whoa! MAJOR) and star gazing at night. I can now check the Grand Canyon off of my bucket list, yes!

So remember to reward yourself after a week, a month or a day full of hard work while looking beautiful, especially in Lovers + Friends. Check out more of the collection here.

*special thank you to L+F, Raissa and Brea for inviting me on this cute little trip! You guys nailed it with the special details and itinerary! xo

Overall.

White on white can be difficult to pull off. White denim overalls can be even more difficult to pull off. However, sticking to simple silhouettes, like a sexy sheer button up and dainty pair of heels, can make it a little easier to pull off.

This summer has been all about white on white for me, literally. I feel like I’ve lived in all white ensembles all summer long. I’ve love the fresh, easy-breezy looks the white gives off and these overalls, for instance, are the perfect example of that fresh look!

A sheer button up definitely added the extra oomph to make these awesome distressed overalls a bit more chic.

Spice it up with dainty looking heels to amp up your overalls- sexy!

A pop of leopard adds the right amount of print and coolness.

paige3.jpg_effected

Layer up dainty necklaces and unbutton your shirt for a sexier look.

Love the distressed rips on the overalls. Makes them feel a bit more relaxed.
