Denim Love.

cover1

One of the items I enjoy wearing the most is denim jeans. They’re the one piece of clothing that I get a kick out of when I score the ‘right’ pair. I mean, let’s face it… finding the perfect pair of skinny, boyfriend, or distressed jeans can be a difficult task. They’re so many details you have to look out for like fit, wash, detail, style, fabric, length, and comfort that it feels overwhelming when you’re in that tiny fitting room.

For me, it’s all about the fit and wash. I don’t buy jeans just to buy, I take my time until i find the right one(s). It usually does take me awhile before I find a good pair but I’ve learned to be patient and hunt down certain key stores, which is always the fun part.

With my patience and what I like to call good eye, I’ve picked up a few pairs that have become my personal favorites as of late. Some of my favorite brands like PAIGE, J BRAND, Citizens of Humanity and AG Adriano Goldschmidt jeans are always the easiest to find at one of my go-to department stores, Nordstrom. It’s a one-stop shop that I know I can always rely on for the most on-trend pieces while receiving the best customer service. It’s convenient for me to find what I’m looking for when they carry some of the best (denim) brands under one roof, yes! I recently took a little shopping trip there to check out the latest jeans while splurging on a couple of jeans for myself since fall season is around the corner!

I went with a pair of J Brand distressed crop skinny jeans; a must-have in everyone’s wardrobe. They look so cool with a button up and pumps- kinda effortlessly sexy! I decided, however, to take the non-sexy route and pair my jeans with cut-out oxfords! It was the perfect look for a busy day at the office, attending two meetings and having a fun lunch with my team! The ripped holes add the effortless look that I always look for in certain pieces.

Stay tuned for my second pair of jeans that I bought and see how I styled them…hint, hint: the kind your boyfriend hates, but you love.

Weekend: SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

SLSCOVER

I’ve been so busy lately with work, meetings and planning new things that these back to back mini getaways I’ve been taking have come at the best time. This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of partnering with SBE to experience the super grand opening of their luxurious SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Although not a huge fan of Las Vegas, I do enjoy escaping for a random weekend getaway once in  awhile. For the grand opening of the SLS however, things were 10x better while in Vegas this time around. We never left the hotel once all weekend… yep, we enjoyed the whole weekend indoors at their pools (yes they have two awesome pools- Foxtail + Beach LiFE!), dined at a couple of their award-winning restaurants, did a little fun shopping at Fred Segal, checked out the casino and of course danced the night away at the uber cool LiFE club.

The vibe is definitely a lot cooler, younger, hipper than most of the other hotels + casinos in Las Vegas which I loved. The thing I don’t like about Vegas is how cheesy it can be, how it can feel overwhelming in those giant hotels/casinos because they’re just too big, and how you have to jump from hotel to hotel to enjoy different things like clubs or restaurants. SLS felt completely different, the opposite for sure. It felt more like a luxurious boutique hotel with a much more upbeat, playful sophisticated vibe; it was a one-stop hotel. Definitely 10x better that what I’m used to in Vegas.

We had a packed itinerary to really explore the hotel all weekend long which was great to  see firsthand. From the first day of the grand opening that entailed a grandeur party that lasted from 7pm to the crack of dawn (Iggy Azelea, Rita Ora and Lenny Kravitz all performed that night-whoa!) to the opening of their sexy hotel LiFE to sitting pool side at their chic pinstripe cabanas while we sipped champagne, to eating at their famous restaurants like Cleo, Bazaar Meat or Katsuya. In the mornings, we either had delicious pancakes at The Griddle Cafe (an L.A. favorite btw) or The Perq-  a super cute joint with gourmet coffee and fresh pastries!

It was a fun filled weekend that I was very happy to be a part of. It is definitely going to make my Vegas trips a lot more pleasurable to stay in and I wouldn’t mind taking trips there more often now.

Take a peek at what my weekend getaway at the SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas looked like! See you at the SLS Vegas soon!

* Special thank you to SBE, SLS and Fouj + Muss for having me a part of the grand opening! Thank you guys for an amazing experience and taking care of us!

London with French Connection.

frenchconnectioncover

London is one of my favorite cities- the street style, the hustle & bustle, the proper way of speaking english, the double-decker buses, the bright red phone booths, fish & chips, I mean, how could it not be a favorite?

So I was excited to find out I would be traveling to London with one of my favorite brands, French Connection. I’ve always loved everything that they’ve carried from clothing, shoes to accessories and even house ware. I always end up finding the cutest pieces that are versatile yet fun, like this white sweater I got a couple of months ago.

I did a lot of sightseeing, tons of picture taking and grubbed on too much fish & chips but I felt very British by the time we had to close out our trip which was great. The most exciting part about my trip was getting to hang with the French Connection team, checking out their new fall collection and getting to attend their A/W ’14 Campaign press preview launch party! It was all sorts of fun; with the theme being magic, rabbits, and one of London’s biggest magicians, Troy Von Scheibner.

Here’s a small diary of what my trip looked with French Connection! Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed being there!

Special thank you to French Connection for having me! xo
