Boot Season!

CHLOÉ Studded Susanna boots

So since fall is here, it’s finally time to pull out your favorite boots and layer up- yay!! I got too excited for it that I packed of one of my favorite pairs to San Diego to try and get in the spirit. Unfortunately, the weather in Los Angeles is still beaming at close to 100 degrees making it very difficult and not fun, to enjoy the fall season. Tear, tear. (Side note: I get many comments/emails regarding posting more “fall/winter” looks for you guys experiencing the real colder weather for inspiration…but it makes it very difficult for me to when it feels like a sauna outside, it’s unbearable! I promise as soon as the temperature drops, I’ll post more fall/winter looks on the blog!)

Even though it still feels like the beginning of summer here in LA, I’m not letting it stop me from preparing for when the temperature cools down enough to wear chunky knits, scarfs, coats and of course boots. I’ve learned to not fall into the whole trend scene when it comes to certain pieces, but as I get older, it really is more about quality over quantity. Before I would just buy, buy, buy and wasn’t really concern about the quality, so I obviously just had a bunch of stuff that really wasn’t worth it. Now, I really scout for the perfect piece, bag, jacket, jewelry, or boots. I really do save money to splurge on the ‘right’ item because I know in the long run, I’ll have it for years to come.

But, I do know some of us can’t splurge because of other priorities, which is completely fine, but I think it’s all about being a smart shopper. Look for deals online, buy on sites like ebay for that designer item you’ve been eyeing, keep track of sales, but most importantly, whatever you buy whether its expensive or not, make sure you’re buying it because it’s a piece that will complement your wardrobe for years to come not just for a couple of months. Always think of quality over quantity, no matter the price.

I splurged a little… well, more like I got lucky, with these Chloé Susanna boots last year when I scored them for almost half the price on a sale! YES! I love the studded details and buckle straps that give it a tough look but the color makes it a bit more feminine and easier to transition from fall to spring. Eventhough the weather is still not fall appropriate, I’m making a wishlist of boots that I’m considering to splurge on for when it finally arrives in LA. I’m thinking a pair of knee-high boots to wear with  flowy dresses with chunky knits or black, buckle strap boots to replace my Balenciaga ones!

Any boots you guys are eyeing for this season or any classic ones? Share! I always want to know what other people are into!

Here are some cool options, both new and classic:

Hide Away.

As the summer heat is slowly slowing down, the cooler temperatures are starting to come in the evenings. I’ve been craving dresses, booties and leather jackets for a summer/fall look that’s in between the two. This will be my go-to leather jacket come fall- it’s the perfect buttery leather and in a color I don’t own.

What are your fall key items?

Side note: Been getting tons of emails regarding my Célfie tee; we are completely sold out but will be restocking this week so keep your eyes peeled for them! In the mean time, check out Shopbop for my new designs! I love our new happy face one! xx

Trouser pants have always caught my eye but have always been unsuccessful in buying any that fit properly
or that were flattering to my body, therefore I don’t really own ANY, sad I know. Received these trousers
from Lulu*s and I’m literally so in love, especially because I wanted to switch from always wearing jeans.
So excited to have these in my wardrobe now and dress them up or down…. love how the oversize
sweater (btw my new fav for fall) balances out the trousers to give it more of a laid-back/comfy look.
note: i poked holes onto the end sleeves of the sweater to keep my hands from freezing and so glad I did because now
I don’t have to spend money on gloves/mittens.
try it!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and be safe…
