Hello New York! It’s been since last October that I was back in NYC and it feels so good to be here. I came for one of my favorite events of the year, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic event. Kevin and I decided to stay a few extra days after the event to enjoy the city and get to some shopping done, catch up with favorite friends and explore more of Brooklyn!
The hustle and bustle of the city always gets me up early and wanting to shoot in every corner! I also love coming here because my mood and outfits definitely change- they’re a bit darker and edgier than what I’m used to in LA. Its crazy how that works!
For our first day out, we had to get some shopping out of the way so we headed down to SoHo. Always a favorite destination. We tackled some good stores then walked a whole bunch right after with nothin’ really to do but to people watch, and shop some more!
People always ask me how to wear hardcore boots like this and honestly, boots like this might look intimidating but they’re really just fun to wear and pair things with. Personally, I like the juxtaposition of wearing something feminine with a pair of boots like this that are more masculine and edgy.
My top 3 tips on how to style tough looking boots are:
- Printed dress- AĀ printed dress, especially a floral oneĀ or like this one, is definitely the right contrast to pair with boots like this! Try a flowy silhouette like the one I’m wearing above so it gives you a more dreamy look.
- Rock band tees- These tees are a definitely must when wearing boots like this. Pair your favorite vintage rock band tee like this, this and this one with a cool pair of ripped skinnies or levis vintage skirt!
- Silver jewelry- Jewelry like chokers like this one and earrings like this and this are the perfect touch to add to books like this! It keeps it feminine but with a soft edge.
When in doubt, always wear black especially if you’re in NYC! Stay tuned for more looks, more content and more of everything!
