One thing I absolutely love (and Iād say Iām really good at) is shopping at flea markets. Whether Iām in LA or traveling abroad, I always find incredible gems ā from vintage trinkets and artwork to denim, clothing, and some of my favorite jewelry pieces I own. Itās honestly one of my absolute favorite pastimes.
Whenever Iām in Europe, flea markets are at the top of my list ā especially in France. Hot take: France has the best flea markets Iāve ever been to. No matter the region, I always make sure to stop by at least one.
On a recent trip, we visited two markets: one in Carpentras and another in LāIsle-sur-la-Sorgue. Both were amazing, but LāIsle-sur-la-Sorgue is truly the crĆØme de la crĆØme of French flea markets.
Ahead is a little diary of my day there, plus my top tips for making the most out of your flea market shopping experience.

Ā FLEA MARKET SHOPPING TIPS
Arrive early: The earlier you come, the calmer and more enjoyable your experience will be – plus, youāll get first pick of the best finds.
Bring cash: Most vendors only accept cash, and it also makes negotiating much easier.
Carry extra bags: Tote bags (or even a cute basket, like this one) make it easier to carry all your treasures.
Make a plan: Flea markets can be overwhelming with so much to see. Come with a list or even a Pinterest board of things youāre looking for. Itāll help you stay focused while still leaving room for those unexpected gems.
Donāt worry about luggage space:Ā If you end up buying more than you can carry, have your items shipped home ā itās much easier than lugging them through the airport.
For art lovers: France is especially unbeatable for vintage art, dishware, and table settings ā pieces that are rare to find anywhere else in the world.
