Give me a good trench and I’m pretty much sold. It’s easily one of my favorite pieces to throw over just about anything, and I love how it can make even the simplest outfit feel a little more pulled together.

We’re still dealing with a heat wave in LA, but I’m already thinking about those first few weeks of fall when it’s not quite sweater weather yet. Lately, I’ve been loving a lightweight trench with capri pants. The trench gives you that extra layer without making you feel like you’re fully dressing for fall, while the capris keep the look feeling light and summery.

I styled this look with a loose, crisp white tee and added a bold pop of color with these red pumps. It’s an easy combination, but somehow feels so chic. I’d wear this to meetings, dinner with friends, a museum date—you name it.
