Hiii from Miami – one of my favorite cities to visit. I always have the best time here and each time I visit I fall in lust over and over again with the city. From its beautiful architecture, warm weather, the culture and of course the beautiful beaches – this city has something for everyone. If you’re making your way over, and unsure of what to do; I went ahead and put together a list of things that I like to do when I’m in town. All you have to do is pack your best swim and wardrobe because you’re sure to have some incredible photo op moments.
Keep reading ahead for my list of things to do.
Ocean Drive is a strip on Miami beach, where you will find some of the most iconic art deco buildings, an array of cafes & restaurants, shops and luxury hotels. Do note that the strip is very touristy and it can get overwhelming but it’s a total vibe you’ll be sure to enjoy nonetheless. For a change of pace, right across the street is Lummus Park where you can enjoy a bike ride or some rollerblading.
If you know me, you know that I am happiest by the sea and Miami has some of the prettiest front beaches. The palm lined beaches are a sight for sore eyes and the atmosphere is incredible. To get a good spot on the beach, I suggest making your way first thing in the morning. I highly recommend renting an umbrella and beach chairs to enjoy a full day in comfort. Plus they’re so cute for photos and perfect to lounge in while enjoying a drink or two. Swoon!
Wynwood Walls – Miami is renowned for some of its bold and colorful art. If you’re an art lover, visit the Wynwood Walls – an amazing outdoor street art museum of murals completely free to the public. Grab yourself a coffee and enjoy a stroll through the colorful and diverse streets. Located on 26th St.
Vizcaya Museum & Garden – Vizcaya is an estate and national historic landmark that features a main house with decorative art, surrounded by gardens. The museum’s mission is to preserve cultural and environmental resources to inspire people in connecting with the past and understanding the present.
Forte Dei Marmi – Some of best Italian food I’ve ever had! Highly recommend the mushroom truffle pasta, Tiramisu (prepared in front of you) and pistachio ice cream – sooo delicious!
Ojo De Agua – Go for the chilaquiles and order a fresh juice. Nom nom.
Puerto Sagua – For authentic Cuban food, this gem is a must-try. Mom and pop type of vibe, inexpensive and comfort food. There is so much to love here. 10/10 recommendation.
Bal Harbour Shops – If you’re feeling fancy, this open-air shopping mall has a ton of designer boutiques. Make sure to check out The Webster & KITH, my personal favorites. It’s about a 35 min drive from Miami.
Lincoln Road – You’ll find more affordable stores here; like Zara, H&M, Pacsun etc. This shopping mall reminds me of the 3rd St. promenade in Los Angeles, which I love.
WHERE TO STAY
The Good Time Hotel – Owned by one my fave artist, Pahrell. This hotel is so cute and instagramable. Do note that the rooms are tiny.
The Edition – This hotel is incredible. If you’re not booking a room here, grab some lunch, go bowling or enjoy ice skating at night – so cool!
1 hotel – This hotel has a great atmosphere, great food and cocktails! Additionally, you can enjoy a day at their wellness spa.
