Versatile coffee date outfit

Los Angeles, CA May 27

On days off, one of my favorite things to do with my family is start the morning at our local coffee spot, then spend time walking around the neighborhood. It’s filled with charming little boutiques, but one of our favorite spots is a bookstore, which has become one of my favorite places to unwind. I can wander through the shelves for hours, sometimes picking up a new coffee table book for our home, and other times browsing without looking for anything specific at all.

My son loves it there too, and it’s always so sweet watching him choose a book to bring home. It’s one of those simple routines that feels small in the moment but always leaves me feeling recharged.

As for the outfit, I’ve really come to appreciate getting dressed for an ordinary day. It feels effortless and low-pressure — just something comfortable to wander around the neighborhood in while still feeling put together. Here, I styled a trench coat with a casual tee, trousers, and flats: simple, easy, and always a reliable go-to. I love outfits that feel comfortable but still chic, and I think the key is mixing in subtle details that stand out, whether it’s through color, texture, or fabric.

These Donni pants have been my go-to lately — I seriously can’t stop wearing them. They’re so versatile, and I swear I wore them five times last week styled in completely different ways. They can easily go from sporty and casual to elevated enough for a nice dinner out. I’m especially loving this butter yellow shade, which has definitely become my favorite color.
