How I spent my birthday

Los Angeles, CA January 23

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, marking the beginning of a new decade. I’m feeling deeply grateful for the lessons that have shaped me and for the love that surrounds me — from family and friends who continue to ground and inspire me. As I look ahead, I’m stepping forward with grace, gratitude, and excitement for what this next year will bring.

The morning of my birthday, I woke up feeling under the weather and spent much of the day resting — sleeping, taking meds, and moving slowly, not exactly how you imagine celebrating. We had dinner plans with my family, but those were postponed. Instead, the day was spent quietly at home with my husband and little one. Kevin cooked all of my favorite foods, surprised me with flowers, and we watched movies in between naps. It turned into the sweetest, most special birthday with my two boys, a reminder that even when things don’t go as planned, there’s still so much beauty in the moments we’re given.

Thankfully, I felt better in the days that followed and was able to celebrate in small ways. Ahead are a few little moments I captured along the way that I’d love to share.

BDAY FIT

Every year, I love putting on a cute birthday ‘fit and taking a photo with my bday cake—this one was snapped a couple of days after my birthday. It’s a fun little tradition and always helps me get into the birthday mood. I’m wearing this stunning pink silk blouse paired with statement earrings and denim for the perfect casual chic birthday moment. You can shop this look here.

Birthday Flowers

I’m so lucky to have the most incredible friends and family who showered me with flowers. A few friends and family members even delivered them personally to my door, which really lifted my spirits. Flowers are always the best gift—so thoughtful and special. My home smelled like a flower garden that day from the scent of all these beautiful blooms.

My Little Fam

This precious moment of Kevin and me giving our Matisse smooches. These are the small, meaningful moments I’ll forever hold near and dear to my heart.

BIRTHDAY CAKE

This stunning cake was made by my girl Alana—you can find her at @alanajonesmann. I always order my birthday cakes from her. Her designs and attention to detail are truly a work of art, and on top of that, the cakes are absolutely delicious.

Treats

Strawberry chocolates are my favorite, and these were the perfect birthday treat. So yummy!

More Blooms

Flowers from my love are always my favorite. He knows exactly how to pick the perfect arrangement, filled with all my favorite greenery and blooms.

Sanrio Surprise

Growing up, I absolutely loved going to the Sanrio store and was obsessed with all the cute characters—Pochacco, Keroppi, Pekkle, Scottie Dottie. My sisters surprised me with the sweetest stickers, notepads, organizers, and pens from the store. It instantly took me back to my childhood.

Brother’s Birthday

The week of my birthday was also my brother’s. Thankfully, I was feeling better by then and was able to attend his 50th birthday bash. Here he is in the center, standing next to our parents. It made me so happy to see him being celebrated and dancing the night away with family and friends.

Sisters

A mandatory sister photo at my brother’s birthday party. I love these women so much—they have always taken care of me, guided me, and loved me deeply. Forever grateful for them.

Chocolate Mousse

Kevin baked the most delicious chocolate mousse birthday cake — quite possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. Here I am with Matisse, helping me with my birthday wish. Little does he know, he’s my wish come true.
