Color of the season: butter yellow

Los Angeles, CA February 25

For me, color is never just visual, it’s emotional. It sets the mood. Every shade carries a feeling. Warm tones create comfort and intimacy. Cool tones bring clarity and calm. Bright, saturated colors hold energy and boldness. They’re my favorite shades, maybe because they remind me of summer and warm sunshine on my skin.

Color influences everything around me, from my home to what I wear.

At home, my palette is always changing, but I tend to choose tones that soften the space, adding small pops of color to bring energy. In my wardrobe, color defines my personal style. I love a range of shades, but I often lean into bold color, it feels connected to my Mexican heritage and the vibrancy I grew up around.

Lately, I’ve been especially drawn to yellow, specifically butter yellow. It’s soft, but still bold. I’ve been bringing it in through flowers, accessories, clothing, and small details around the house. I even love dressing my son in playful colors.

It feels like the perfect shift from winter tones and an exciting welcome to spring. How do you incorporate color into your life?

xx Jules

Yellow [yel-oh] Minimalist joy. Subtle optimism in color form. Understated sunshine.
