Hola!! Greetings from my beautiful motherland, México! I’m so happy to be here- sunbathing, swimming and not having a care in the world. I wanted to show Kevin one of my favorite places in México, so we decided to unplug on the beautiful Tulum and Xpu-Ha beaches!
Going somewhere beachy is always my first pick when choosing a destination (aside from Paris of course!) because I always have the most memorable times. I love prepping for these trips because of the fun shopping and styling of looks. I always rely on hitting up Nordstrom for those it pieces that I have to have for my trips, but also to buy all my essentials – from my beauty products, to shoes and accessories. It’s my favorite one-stop shop, especially when getting ready to jet off somewhere!
For beachy destinations, I always make sure to pack embroidered pieces to tie in with the tropical theme/mood of the trip! Tropical destinations always have texture overload, so you want to make sure that you choose clothing that will help you stand out in front of the beautiful backgrounds. For this trip I found the most perfect embroidered Alice and Olivia caftan dress that perfectly complimented the Méxican villa setting. How beautiful are the sleeves on this dress?!
My top 3 rules for packing for a beach destinations are:
- Dresses, Dresses, Dresses! It’s the easiest item you’ll have in your luggage to just throw on for daytime exploring or a fun dinner date at night. Choose special details like embroidery, different lengths (mini, midi and maxi) and prints/colors to help you stand out.
- Accessories. Make sure to hit up the jewelry/accesorry section on Nordstrom to stock up on pretty dainty jewelry. For beachy destinations, I always focus on gold jewelry like hoops, dainty layered necklaces and rings. Also pack crossbody bags! They will come in handy when you want to be hands-free while exploring your destination!
- Slip-on sandals. They’re easy, versatile and pretty much go with all of your beachy looks!
